Street Rod Quarterly and Street Rod Pictorial were early 70s publications by Petersen Publishing's Hot Rod editorial team which celebrated the history and art of street rods. The owner of Petersen Publishing, Robert E. Petersen, was an early champion for hot rod culture and built a publishing empire on automotive-themed publications, including Car Craft, Rod & Custom, Sports Car Graphic, and Motor Trend. Robert E. Petersen later founded the Petersen Automotive Museum in 1994.
