$20 Doodles by Pete Von Sholly

Making good art affordable for the masses!
We are bringing our favorite $20 art event back with several pieces from artist Pete von Sholly. I've been going through random boxes here at Hyaena, trying to prep the gallery for re-opening, and I keep finding treasures like this.

Pete Von Sholly is a creative tour de force. Between the many books he's unleashed into the world and the celebrated H.P. Lovecraft illustrations his name has become synonymous with, Pete has been a storyboard artist for some of the greatest underground and horror films around (Pretty much everything you love). Movies like A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & 4, Heathers, Bride of Re-Animator, Darkman, Freaked, Mars Attacks!, and Drop Dead Fred among many others, have all used his considerable talents. In addition, Pete has been heralded for his ongoing art mural, The History of Monsters, which depicts over 1100 monsters and counting from throughout history. Pete is an original monster kid / fan / historian / scholar, and an important part of film history.

For this batch, Pete wanted to explore some random story ideas and have some fun with the whole thing. Each drawing is layed out like a storyboard or comic panel, like a tease of some epic tale. These are graphite on paper and range in size from roughly 2.5" to 3" x 8.5"
