Los Angeles writer and artist Bob Flanagan (1952 - 1996) was an American performance artist and writer known for his work on sadomasochism and living with cystic fibrosis. He created performances with partner Sheree Rose which shocked and inspired audiences from Seattle to Boston to Berlin. He combined text, video, and live performance to create a highly personal but universal exploration of childhood, sex, illness, and mortality. The man was a legend. I do not think there is one photo in this book that is safe for social media.
