Such a weird crossover that illustrates how ingrained into our pop culture Manson was/is. The Punisher attempts to free a vicious death-row murderer from a Utah State prison just so he could question him about "where the bodies are buried" (the Punisher felt the victims' families deserved to know) and then kill the guy himself ended in disaster. But it leads Frank Castle on a new mission to track the interlopers who interfered with his plan and stole his helicopter to free another one of their allies, a Charles-Manson style cult-leader (complete with a swastika on his forehead) while he's in transit from a federal penitentiary. Later, the Punisher and his companions brutally ambush the cult-leader's pals while they are in the process of brutally ambushing the cops who are transporting their deranged prisoner across country. In the end, the Punisher confronts a symbolic Charles Manson.
